It Happened to Alexa Foundation, founded by Tom and

W.A.S.P.
is a grassroots organization started in Columbus, Ohio by Tracy
Golden after finding sexual predators in her neighborhood that were within
1000 ft of a school. Faced with the harsh reality that the Sheriff's
office was overwhelmed with the task of keeping track of these offenders, and
desperately under funded and understaffed to do so, Tracy decided it was time
to take a stand. Tracy formed W.A.S.P. in hopes of uniting women and parents to
take a stand against sexual offenders, get schools more involved in child
safety education, and to provide fellowship between Law Enforcement and the
community. There are now chapters in Ohio and Chicago.

The sole purpose and mission of Pedophile Hunters Inc is to make the world a
safer place for children. Our goals include working with our allies to pass
legislation to insure stronger laws against pedophiles and all forms of child

RAINN DAY
RAINN Day is RAINN's annual
campaign to stop sexual assault on college campuses. In 2008, RAINN Day reached
over 1,000,000 students in all 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, and Canada with
information on how to reduce their risk of sexual violence and what to do if
they or a friend have been assaulted. Students and volunteers raised awareness
through fundraising and educational events, volunteer drives, speakers,
petitions, posters, and passing out RAINN Day cards and volunteer handouts.

Report IT Day

The
Report IT Campaign is a nationwide state-to-state rally to Report sexual
violence and abuse on the same day (annually on April 29th)! It was created to
raise awareness on the vast under-reporting of sexual assault including rape,
incest, and abuse.
Denim Day

Each year universities, colleges, junior high and high
schools, businesses, organizations and individuals participate in Denim Day
events. Denim Day was created from an effort to help eliminate persistent
harmful attitudes regarding why, where and how women are raped. Denim Day
has been internationally celebrated since 1999 in protest of an Italian High
Court ruling that overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing
jeans. Enraged by the verdict, women of the Italian Legislature protested the
decision by wearing jeans to work. As news of the decision spread, so did the
protest.

Awareness of Rape and Incest through Art (ARIA) is an

by transforming internal suffering into works of art. ARIA provides a forum for

community among survivors.
Jan Gaff-LaFontaine's work is focused on two projects:
her book Women in Shadow and Light, and the photographic exhibit from which it
evolved, "Out of the Shadows". Both feature forty women who found the
courage to triumph over abuse. The projects use art to empower women by
focusing on hope, strength and healing—not violence and victimization.

Darkest Dreams, A Lighted Way

This exhibit featured artists that have suffered from
some type of abuse (physical, emotional, mental, sexual, emotional), neglect,
and mental anguish or their artwork someway teaches awareness, helps express
what others who have been abused can't. The first exhibit took place on July
11th, 2008 but they're currently trying to make it an annual event. Look for a
call for entries for 2009/2010! This first 2008 exhibit was not for
the faint of heart, because it was about truth, reality and awareness.

Sculptor and psychotherapist Michael C. Irving, Ph.D.,
created with child abuse survivors the first national monument to acknowledge
and validate childhood abuse victims. Throught its sculpted quilt squares
the "Reaching Out" Child Abuse Monument honors the spirit and courage

by these issues and those who believe that sexual violence is not part of their

Searching for Angela Shelton

In the uplifting and multiple award-winning documentary, Searching for Angela Shelton,
filmmaker Angela Shelton drives around the United States surveying other Angela
Sheltons. She discovers that 24 out of the 40 Angela Sheltons she speaks to are
survivors of rape, childhood sexual abuse and/or domestic
violence. (The number jumped to 28 out of 40 when 4 more Angelas
broke their silence after the movie was completed.)
"Incest - A Family Tragedy" is an intense and
compassionate examination of the sexual molestation of children by family members
and trusted friends. The film features ground-breaking testimony from

The Dave Peltzer Show

Author of "A Child Called It", Dave Peltzer has experienced a truly
extraordinary life. He nearly died several times by the hands of his mentally
disturbed alcoholic mother. Years later it was determined that Dave’s case was
